How is a BESS project implemented?

Implementation of a BESS project at an industrial or commercial facility begins with an analysis of the current situation. It all starts with a detailed analysis of the situation. The company’s electricity consumption schedule, available input power, power requirements, the facility’s operating mode, solar power plant parameters (if already installed), and the goals sought by installing an energy storage system are evaluated. For one business, the most important thing is to reduce peak loads; for another, to better capitalise on fluctuations in electricity prices; for a third, to prepare for future increases in electricity demand. In the next stage, based on this data, the appropriate system capacity, power, equipment configuration, and control logic are selected. Then, design solutions are developed, technical issues are resolved, and, when necessary, permits are obtained from the distribution network operator. Only then does the supply, installation, and integration of the equipment into the facility’s electrical system begin. In the final stage, testing, commissioning, and tuning are performed. During these activities, it is verified whether the system operates safely, responds appropriately to specified conditions, and whether its control meets the specific needs of the facility. When planning such a project, it is important to consider not only technical solutions but also the time required to install an industrial energy storage system.
